The Goblet of Fire

Series: Harry Potter
Age Range: General
Setting: Hogwarts School for Witchcraft & Wizardry
- Harry Potter is the 14-year-old wizard who finds himself unexpectedly entered for the Triwizard tournament, as a fourth competitor!
Harry Potter enteres his 4th, eventuful, year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. As well as the “normal” classes of potions, transfiguration and charms, it seems that the forces of evil are also on the move. Another delightful addition to the Harry Potter series full of action, adventure and unforgettable tragedy.
See The Harry Potter Series for general comments.
For the most part htis story is both engaging and enjoyable for the reader and while it may drag a little in the middle, Rowling makes up for it with a very dramatic closing sequence culminating in a tragic event. The book is most certainly not morally objectionable; however, due to adult tension which builds up throughout the book and is released by the tragic event I have decided to recommend the book to 12+ only as I feel that the younger children may be strongly affected by such high tensino levels. Rowling herself admits that this book is darker than its predecessors.
