The Midnight Fox

Tom, a townie, stays with his farming uncle and aunt, convinced he will hate every minute. He is enthralled by the sight of a a black fox in the fields, and tries to keep it a secret from his hunting uncle, who eventually captures the fox's cub to use as bait. Tom lets the cub go and the fox gets away.
A short book, focusing on the changing attitude of Tom in the country, contrasted with his frivolous town life, exemplified in his friend Petie.
