Synopsis:
Set in the years before the Great War. Christabel is sent away from her middle-class London aunt to her uncle Russell on his horse-centred estate Flambards somewhere in the Home Counties. She befriends the stable boy Dick and her cousin William who dislikes horses and hunting and loves flying, but dislikes William's brother Mark and her domineering uncle, who live for their horses and their hunting. Eventually she leaves Flambards and goes with William to London to get married.
