Synopsis:
A story set some 40 years after “The Keeper of the Isis Light” when the original settlers on Isis have grown older and a new generation is growing up. Jody, grandchild of an original settler, is adventurous and meets the guardian and his mistress. Together they avert the danger which threatens the colony and the guardian decides to interfere no more.
Notes:
I have yet to find a book by Monica Hughes which is really worth reading. This, as her others, is unobjectionable, but unmemorable. The characters sag and the plot never grips. Shame: the idea's good.
