Red Shift
Style: Good
Attitude: Unobjectionable
Age Range: Mid Teens
Period: Various
Genres: Short
Synopsis:
Three separate stories are told as happening in parallel around the same Cheshire locations. All three boil down to the love of a man and a woman, though one is set in Roman times, another during the Civil War and the last is contemporary. The stories are linked by the locations and by the finding of an axe head, hidden in one time and found in the next, then re-hidden.
Notes:
A very Garneresque approach; the geography plays a major part as one tries to picture three different sets of people around the same location in three different ages. There is a certain undertone of sexual immorality, making the book unsuitable for the unwary.
